Choosing a commercial treadmill: what to check before ordering
A purchasing guide for clubs, hotels and residential gyms: usage, dimensions, consoles, infrastructure and service.
A treadmill should be selected alongside the room layout. Beyond the machine specification, the decision affects infrastructure, maintenance access and the number of people who can train comfortably at once. Start with a short requirements sheet and compare models against it.
MATRIX catalogs may offer different equipment and console combinations. A photograph or series name does not establish which features are included in a quotation. A useful comparison connects the exact model, console, quantity and service scope.

Define users and operating patterns
Record opening hours, peak periods, staffing and the type of facility. In an existing club, observe when queues form and whether they recur at the same times. In hotels and residential buildings, consider how easily an occasional user can start and stop a session. These observations inform quantities and interface choices without relying on room size alone.
Check dimensions and delivery access
Request installation dimensions and the clearances specified in the manufacturer’s instructions for each model. Mark boarding space, service access and room door swings. Before ordering, check the delivery route, including elevators, turns, stairs and openings. Running surface dimensions are not overall machine dimensions, and the overall footprint does not necessarily include required surrounding space.
Choose a console around the user experience
Identify the functions that matter: quick start, workout information, languages and connected content. Ask to see the proposed configuration and check which services require networking, an account or an additional payment. Do not assume an internationally advertised feature is available in Israel or on every console version. Confirm essential features with the supplier in writing.
Coordinate power and service before installation
Give the electrical designer the exact model requirements rather than assuming all treadmills connect in the same way. Review service coverage, installation responsibility, operating familiarization and fault reporting. Once selected, keep the model, configuration and instructions together with service contact details so staff can identify the equipment when needed.
